Your Cross

This is a story that was shared by my friend Rose A.

So, there was a group of men, each with his cross. There were lots of complaints about weight, length, etc. One man decided his was too long because it was dragging on the ground as he walked. He could not bear the burden, so he got a brilliant idea...he cut part of his cross so it became shorter. Without the burden of dragging the cross as he walked, the journey became easier. Along the journey, the group came to a river. It turned out that each person's cross was to act as his bridge. Unfortunately, the reduced cross was not long enough to go across the river. The man was left behind; the rest of the group continued on the journey.

Well, I guess we can say there are always consequences to our shortcuts. So, carry your full cross in its original design.
