Encouraged

Dear All,

I have just received a beautiful winter magazine from St. Alcuin featuring some excerpts from my blog. As you have all noticed, I have not been writing for while, and I am not pleased with myself. Reading these excerpts, I was encouraged to keep writing because even the simplest updates sounded very interesting more than a year later. I hope to be back in gear now. Thank you, Dr. Civello for sharing my experiences with the wonderful community of St. Alcuin.

Well, I am sure you remember me mentioning looking for land for our secondary school. We finally bought a beautiful piece 34km out of Kampala on Mityana Road. It is such site! It 's on a gently slopping hill with views of rolling hills in three different directions. Right below the hill on on of the sides is a forest reserve, which means we will always have a large green area to look at.

We took some of our children and American visitors/friends to see it this weekend. It was in the middle of the days and the equator sun seemed at its highest, but the breeze on that hill felt like it could cure the worst of pains. The children thought it would be a great learning environment. It is such a relief that we have this piece of land, and I am thankful for the donors that have made it possible. Designs for the school are underway, then we will launch our capital campaign. If you are interested in learning more about what we're doing, please visit http://www.empowerafricanchildren.org/.

The year is so far so good. I will write more soon.

I hope you're all doing well.

Love,

Agie
